Hi hi. I hope all is well. It seems like I am always super swamped at work this time of year.  I always feel like I'm missing out on Christmas spirit and holiday festivities when I'm glued to my computer. Poor me. :(  Luckily I had a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago and I was forced to escape from the office for a bit.  One of my favorite stores, Club Monaco , had undergone a complete renovation to their flagship store in NYC and I hadn't had a chance to stop by (insert busy at work- again). My doctor's office is next door so I had no excuse and boy was I happy I stopped by.  The entryway was perfectly done. I really felt like I was entering someone's super chic home rather than a store.  This picture does not do the space justice, but the ceiling was so gorgeous- a silvery grey sky with tiny glistening stars. Of course things at work were super dead.  I had some time on my hands so I was working furiously on some fascinating posts for you. Alas, things went from 0 to a million and I have finished none of said posts to share with you. So, instead I'll share some of my pictures from Instagram (follow me here ). Got this lucite and embossed leather console from ABC Home . Now I just need to find some time to 'style' it. I went on a visit to the Bauble Bar offices . Love the decor. Had to pick up { this } and { this } while I was there. I'm hoping I get to check out the Soho pop-up store so that I can see more of their baubles in person. A little gingham and a J. Hello, hello. I usually try to keep my posts light and fun, so that you and I can come here to escape for a few minutes from real life, jobs and stress. That being said, it's been a rough week for us over in the old US of A and I just want to comment on it briefly. First of all, I just want to send my thoughts out to anyone affected by the Boston Marathon bombings and the fertilizer explosion in West, Texas. As someone who lived in New York City during 9-11, I know how terrorism can change your life unalterably.  It's extremely difficult to truly comprehend this unless you actually live through it, so I feel for you Boston.  I really do. Tragedies like this often show us how truly amazing people really are. Their abilities to help others in a time of need renews my faith in mankind. My mother-in-law is a supporter of the Ubuntu Education Fund .  The word "Ubuntu" is a Xhosa philosophy that implies human interconnectedness: "I am what I am because of who we all are."  The Ubuntu Education Fund is an organization that has taken interconnectedness to the next level by developing a model for raising orphaned or vulnerable children in the disadvantaged townships of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.  Ubuntu helps these children through an integrated system of medical, health, educational and social interventions so that they can succeed in the worlds of higher education and employment.  Over the past few years we have attended Ubuntu's New York City galas.  It's always a humbling experience as you hear the stories of so many that have achieved so much with so little.  It's hard to make it through the night with dry eyes.  This year was no different.  Along with the inspiring tales of hardship a...

Happy Friday!! We are still living in our apartment while we renovate our new house.  We've lived in our apartment for about 5 years now and it's been a great place to live.  People that don't live in NYC are always talking about how apartments here are so expensive and small.  It's true that you don't have the space in the city that you would if you lived in the suburbs, but there are so many great things about living here- easy commute to Manhattan for work- subways run 24/7 and they come pretty frequently; tons of amazing nightlife-bars and clubs; access to some of the best restaurants in the WORLD; great delivery services- you can get food, dry cleaning and laundry, groceries, prescriptions and many, many more things delivered right to your door; cultural activities; outstanding shopping; beautiful Central and Prospect Parks; crossing paths with people from every country around the globe.  This list could go on and on.
