Are you surprised? I'm sure you can't believe that I actually came back and put up another post and it didn't take me months?  LoL I'm trying!   So back to the porch.  Welcome back. Up the stairs we go.    I can see a big improvement already. I guess it couldn't have been much worse, right?            The porch re-do all started with this bench I found at Restoration Hardware. The color scheme came from the rug , which I saw by chance at Target. I always find that when you're actually looking for something you can never find it.  I thought the red and orange would be a good compliment to the pink paint of my house and porch and the maroon shutters.      I also got the smaller oblong (rectangle) pillows  during the same trip to Target. This past weekend we decided to have a few friends over for a little pool party. The boys got into their swimsuits as soon as they woke up. All the food was prepped and I got out all of my outdoor dining gear. Assortment of melamine tableware from Home Goods, Target, One Kings Lane and the sadly defunct Fortunoff I put the sunscreen into this cute little bucket I got from One Kings Lane .  I still hadn't gotten around to planting the annuals in their usual spot around the driveway.  I couldn't have people over to the house without finishing that up. Let's just say this big belly of mine is making it hard to do a lot of gardening this summer. So, here's what the pool at the new house looks like now: From the files of StyleBurbia From the files of StyleBurbia Instead of having a safe, strong cover, it has what I like to call a death trap.  So we need to replace that and we also need to replace the lovely, sagging vinyl liner.  It definitely needs some TLC, which it should be receiving shortly.  In the mean time, I am daydreaming about all of the great parties we're going to have over the summer (if we make it into the house- fingers crossed).  I'm planning my pool party outfits- colorful one pieces, floppy hats and super flowy and breezy coverups.  I'm thinking of what outdoor plates and glassware to add to the small collection that I currently have and I'm thinking of all the cocktails and food I'm going to serve.  So, until I can have one of these parties, let's look at some of my inspiration below: Happy Summer!!
