My Life in Pictures

Image
Of course things at work were super dead.  I had some time on my hands so I was working furiously on some fascinating posts for you. Alas, things went from 0 to a million and I have finished none of said posts to share with you. So, instead I'll share some of my pictures from Instagram (follow me here ). Got this lucite and embossed leather console from ABC Home . Now I just need to find some time to 'style' it. I went on a visit to the Bauble Bar offices . Love the decor. Had to pick up { this } and { this } while I was there. I'm hoping I get to check out the Soho pop-up store so that I can see more of their baubles in person. A little gingham and a J. Crew necklace to brighten up my day. Some NYC love. Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building. My father-in-law brought me flowers on Father's Day. Nice, huh?  I mixed them with some pussy willows that I already had in the kitchen. ...

Butterfly in the Sky

Image
Hello there dear friends. I hope all is well with you. The other day I stopped by this cute little vintage store in my town called Garnish . I spied a bunch of cute stuff, but I was particularly drawn to these vintage butterfly trays: and this cigarette holder? pen holder? I'm not quite sure what this thing is, but I liked it. Are you sensing a theme to what I'm liking here? "Butterfly in the sky. I can see twice as high." Yes, I'm aging myself, but I loved that show.  (Reading Rainbow for those of you that didn't grow up in the 80s.)  Also, loved LeVar Burton's recent appearance on the Colbert Report.  You must watch { this }.  It is hilarious. Love you Stephen! Wow! I'm really getting off topic here. Back to the butterflies, woman!! lol I started noticing butterflies everywhere. Maybe it's because we got this for the boys: The caterpillars are morphing into butterfli...

Inspiration

Hi there. I was going through Houzz this morning, looking for ideas for the patio area around our pool. (Hopefully, it won't be looking like { this } much longer!) Houzz is such a great place to get ideas and inspiration. Master Update

Image
Hello there lovies and Happy Friday! Don't you love a short work week? I'm so happy that the weekend is here again and the weather has finally (fingers crossed) made a turn for the warmer. I finally have some pictures from our Master Bedroom. Yes, I have been promising these for a while.  Yes, I have not lived up to my promises.  Don't hate me :( You know I always like to show a little bit of before, during and after. So, here's what the room looked like before we moved in: After we painted, ripped up the carpet and re-did the floors: A little furniture placement: ... and how we are looking now... and there we have it folks.. We still have a little bit of work to do. I want to put a mirror or some artwork over the dresser.  Of course I'd like to find a different rug to go with our grey themed bedroom, but for no...

A Little Fun in the Sun with the Fam and Great Friends

Image
Here are a few pictures from our Texas vacation that seems like it was AGES ago. You can always count on lots of work to ruin some good R & R. Boo! We usually head down there once a year as my father-in-law has some digs right on the beach. He's nice enough to let us invite a bunch of our friends down and we usually stay for a week. This year we started the trip out in Austin.  Some of our friends, Paul & Deborah, moved to Dallas so they were kind enough to drive to Austin for a little rendezvous.  It was great cuz we hadn't met their adorable twins, Reese and Cole, yet. I should have a ton of pictures of all of the Austin scenes that we took in, but that was hard to do with 4 kiddos in tow.  Next time we have to hire a babysitter for the brood, so we can really enjoy the city.  I have to say that I really liked Austin and would definitely visit there again.  We had some amazing meals at la Barbecue  (a food truck where a l...
