Tra La La La La

Christmas is almost here....
Have you gotten all your gifts, wrapped them, figured out your holiday menu and sent out your holiday cards????
Me either!!! :)
I did find a little bit of time to get the house dressed in its festive garb.

Send me some pics of your holiday decorations! I want to see, so I can get better ideas for next year.
If I don't talk to you before then, Merry Christmas!
Much love to you all and to your families, Ris

Spaces that Speak to Me

Hi hi. I hope all is well. It seems like I am always super swamped at work this time of year.  I always feel like I'm missing out on Christmas spirit and holiday festivities when I'm glued to my computer. Poor me. :(  Luckily I had a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago and I was forced to escape from the office for a bit.
One of my favorite stores, Club Monaco, had undergone a complete renovation to their flagship store in NYC and I hadn't had a chance to stop by (insert busy at work- again). My doctor's office is next door so I had no excuse and boy was I happy I stopped by.

The entryway was perfectly done. I really felt like I was entering someone's super chic home rather than a store.

This picture does not do the space justice, but the ceiling was so gorgeous- a silvery grey sky with tiny glistening stars. I could stare up at it all day.

Whoa! Holy moly! Those are real trees. I was in black and white heaven with touches of pale pink.

As Thanksgiving Day draws upon us tomorrow, I think it's always a good time to remember what we are thankful for.  It's something I think we should do more often (like every day), but we should do it at least once a year, right?
I am thankful for: a loving and supportive family both immediate and extended (honorable mentions go out to my parents, sis and hubby), my two beautiful boys, my health, amazing friends, a lovely home, a job that pays the bills and my StyleBurbia readers (you didn't think I was going to forget you?).

What are you thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day and every day?

Seriously, is it Winter Already? Fall Updates!

I woke up this morning and it was snowing. Yes, I know it's November, but really? I'm not ready yet.  Part of my mind still thinks it's August.
Since time is flying by, I need to do a little fall recap for you.

1st day of school. Hayden returns to preschool but it's Tristan's first day of school. Yippee!

A little visit with my Grandpa. I'm not sure who's cuter.

My aunt and uncle own a farm in East Lyme, Connecticut- Scott's Yankee Farmer.  The boys got to do a little pumpkin picking.

Some gourds for mama:

and Tristan got to 'drive' a tractor.

How cute is this?

almost there. lol!

some QT with the cousins:

Then it was time for Halloween! Too bad Tristan is acting like an angry dog :(

Fall Fashion

Hi there lovies-

I usually like to send out my seasonal trends before the season starts, but you now how it goes- Lots of real job work going on around these parts and poor StyleBurbia is suffering in my absence. At least it's still Fall and we're not up to our eyeballs in snow, right (though I did see some snow in some pictures from some of my Colorado peeps- not ready AT ALL!)?
I digress... as usual... so let's take a lookie.

Easy ways to spruce up items you may already have in your wardrobe- animal print, leather, metallics and plaid- add a red lip and you're set.

Olivia Palermo's short leather skirt is balanced perfectly with a pair of dark tights.

Ashley Madekwe, actress and Ring my Bell blogger, rocks a super cute leather skirt and red lips. She also makes several appearances in my style board above.

These sultry animal print looks are …
