Master Update

Image
Hello there lovies and Happy Friday! Don't you love a short work week? I'm so happy that the weekend is here again and the weather has finally (fingers crossed) made a turn for the warmer. I finally have some pictures from our Master Bedroom. Yes, I have been promising these for a while.  Yes, I have not lived up to my promises.  Don't hate me :( You know I always like to show a little bit of before, during and after. So, here's what the room looked like before we moved in: After we painted, ripped up the carpet and re-did the floors: A little furniture placement: ... and how we are looking now... and there we have it folks.. We still have a little bit of work to do. I want to put a mirror or some artwork over the dresser.  Of course I'd like to find a different rug to go with our grey themed bedroom, but for no...

Welcome to Planet Hayden

Welcome again friends to Hayden's room. It's been a while since you've seen it, so I'll give you a little refresher course: You can take a look at old posts { here }, { here } and { here }.  First it looked like this: (These are pictures from our house tour before we bought the house.) Then the house became ours and it was time to change things up: Then we added a little paint: and started to fix the fireplace: Here's Hayden's bed with his Land of Nod bedding: I love the shades of blue with the pops of orange. One of the reasons hubby and I chose the name Hayden was because we were both fans of the Hayden Planetarium , located at the Museum of Natural History, when we were growing up.  This bedding was a no-brainer for our little star gazer. I am not a fan of the lamps on either side of the bed, but the boys love how easy they...

Hmmm... These Look Kinda the Same to Me

Happy Monday (is there such a thing?)! B-day dinner with hubby went great.  We went to an Italian restaurant called Scarpetta.  Take a look { here } .   It's not your average, run-of-the mill Italian restaurant with the traditional chicken parmigiana and meatballs (don't get me wrong I love those dishes).  The food was amazing. We had Tuna 'Susci' and Braised Short Ribs of Beef for appetizers.  We shared the Spaghetti and had Branzino and Black Cod for entrees. Yum! I'm getting hungry just typing about it. Check out the menu { here } . Thanks to my friend, Chris, who always provides the best tips on what restaurant I should go to next. Dining Room at Scarpetta- the ceiling is a huge skylight (Image via Scarpetta)   For those of you kind enough to help me pick what accessories to wear to my hubby's dinner (See { here } ), I totally mixed things up and ended up wearing the dark blue necklace and the sil...

One Kings Lane is a site that offers flash sales on furniture and home decor (for those of you who didn't know). While looking at their site yesterday I noticed a sale on Diane von Furstenberg bedding.  Diane- as I like to call her cuz we are close, personal friends ;) - always has really interesting patterns and designs, especially compared to some of the snooze-worthy (pun intended) bedding that I usually see.  Her sale ends tomorrow, May 24th, (sorry for the late notice) but it's definitely worth checking out.  P.S I saw a couple of these duvets for regular price on Bloomingdales so you are definitely getting a deal. See here and here . A few of my favs: DVF Dancing Knots bedding at One Kings Lane DVF 50s Stripe Stand Alone bedding at One Kings Lane Giant Brush Marks DVF bedding Though not on sale at One Kings Lane, loving this Jonathan Adler bedding: Jonathan Adler Fishscales Bedding from Layla Grace C...
