Porch Reveal

Image
Are you surprised? I'm sure you can't believe that I actually came back and put up another post and it didn't take me months?  LoL I'm trying!   So back to the porch. Welcome back. Up the stairs we go.    I can see a big improvement already. I guess it couldn't have been much worse, right?            The porch re-do all started with this bench I found at Restoration Hardware. The color scheme came from the rug , which I saw by chance at Target. I always find that when you're actually looking for something you can never find it.  I thought the red and orange would be a good compliment to the pink paint of my house and porch and the maroon shutters.      I also got the smaller oblong (rectangle) pillows  during the same trip to Target. The other pillows are from Pottery Barn and Cost Plus World Market.  The stools/side t...

Finally. Something Done.

Image
I was sadly delusional when I was on maternity leave. I thought that I would get a ton of my little projects done and a lot of spaces would be transformed. That  SO did not happen. That's when I have to remind myself that I was a tiny bit busy taking care of a baby and shuttling around two other kiddos to and from school and their myriad of activities. :)   So, the other day we had a 3 day weekend. (Note: This 3 day weekend was more than a month ago now... I've been working on this post since then when I can fit it in between my insane work hours.)  I surprisingly did not have any work to do. Needless to say, I turned into a crazy woman and tried to do as much as possible.   Here's a sneak peak at a project that I am working on in my closet area/dressing room.     I picked up the armoire from Restoration Hardware to store some of my bags and shoes. Yeah cuz a shoe closet and another closet just isn'...

My Life in Pictures

Image
Of course things at work were super dead.  I had some time on my hands so I was working furiously on some fascinating posts for you. Alas, things went from 0 to a million and I have finished none of said posts to share with you. So, instead I'll share some of my pictures from Instagram (follow me here ). Got this lucite and embossed leather console from ABC Home . Now I just need to find some time to 'style' it. I went on a visit to the Bauble Bar offices . Love the decor. Had to pick up { this } and { this } while I was there. I'm hoping I get to check out the Soho pop-up store so that I can see more of their baubles in person. A little gingham and a J. Crew necklace to brighten up my day. Some NYC love. Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building. My father-in-law brought me flowers on Father's Day. Nice, huh?  I mixed them with some pussy willows that I already had in the kitchen. ...

Master Update

Image
Hello there lovies and Happy Friday! Don't you love a short work week? I'm so happy that the weekend is here again and the weather has finally (fingers crossed) made a turn for the warmer. I finally have some pictures from our Master Bedroom. Yes, I have been promising these for a while.  Yes, I have not lived up to my promises.  Don't hate me :( You know I always like to show a little bit of before, during and after. So, here's what the room looked like before we moved in: After we painted, ripped up the carpet and re-did the floors: A little furniture placement: ... and how we are looking now... and there we have it folks.. We still have a little bit of work to do. I want to put a mirror or some artwork over the dresser.  Of course I'd like to find a different rug to go with our grey themed bedroom, but for no...

Master Bathroom

Image
Hello there lovies- After months of promising you pictures of our master bathroom renovation, I have finally lived up to my promises. Here are the pictures, but first here's a refresher course. You can also take a look { here }, { here } and { here }. I have some loyal California readers that loved our master bathroom just the way it was. I know subway tiles are all the rage now, but every bathroom in our Brooklyn hood had subway tile and so did every bathroom of the houses we looked at in our new Burbia town. I was just tiiiiiired of it.  More importantly, though it's not clear from the pictures, the tile needed a pick me up. and what I mean by pick me up is a complete gut job. lol. Getting there: Remember the tile palette that we were using? From top left corner going clockwise- tile for shower floor, tile for floor, tile for accent wall behind vanities and tile for accent wall behind the tub.  There was also o...
