A Little Weekend Fun (for once)..

Image
We usually go out to our house every weekend to check on the progress that happened during the week and then stay with my parents that live in a neighboring town.  We're usually running around like maniacs picking up more supplies from Home Depot or going to look at more tile, faucets, paint etc. etc.  We have done this almost every weekend since we bought our house in late January . Let's just say, it's a grind. Last weekend, we decided to have some fun and chill with friends for a loooooooong overdue visit.  They live in a super quaint town in Long Island, New York right near the water.  Only wish they lived closer.  :(  Can you say lovely? This looks like a painting, right? I have a thing for weeping willows. One of my neighbors in my old childhood neighborhood had one of these in their yard. Love them.  I guess there is something romantic about them or do I just have a strange affinity towards trees?  ... probably the latter. lol The

Hello there! Just wanted to share some updated pictures of the kitchen.... It's white. It's glossy. These poles will be painted white to blend in to the surroundings. Before (for reference): Little bit closer... Trying to see if we can switch these glass doors.  I wanted something where the glass almost came to the end of the cabinet door.  These look a little like prison windows. ;) I think if I can't get a door with more glass, I'll swap these out for just plain front doors. Before: Slightly different angle but just so you can see the old island See this area that I circled in red below? These were big doors that concealed the previous owners' washer and dryer. We decided to go with a similar set up, but these doors covered up a nice window and made the kitchen darker and we didn't want that.   So we took out the original window, which wasn't as wide but was taller and repla

We're Getting so Close I can Taste it.

I know this title is weird and so am I, but it's true. We are soooo close. I'm hoping we can move in to the house within the next two weeks. Will it happen? I don't know! Will we come close? I hope so! (where did this weird rhyming thing come into being??) Weekend in Review

Image
Hello There! Hope you had a lovely weekend (yes, I know it's Wednesday). The hubby and I had friends in town from Cali this past weekend.  We hadn't seen them in ages, which is unfortunately what happens when all of your friends have kids and live far away.  :(  We were lucky enough to spend some quality time with them and have a super nice dinner, catch a Broadway play and see a college football game together.  I love when you haven't seen friends in a super long time, but you pick up right where you left off and it feels like it's been days since you last saw them instead of years.  I guess this is just a sign of AMAZING friends. Ahhhh.. Thank God for friends like these. Anywho, back to the weekend festivities.... Though I have been to MANY of my alma mater's football games , this was a whole 'nother level.  Sorry CU !  We went to see Syracuse and USC play at, what I prefer to call, the new Giants Stadium (I hate how every arena now has the name
