Tribute to Mom

There are A LOT of things you learn when you become a parent.  Two of the most important things I've learned are how much my parents truly love me (and my sister) and how hard they have worked to take care of us and make us happy.

My mother sacrificed her career to stay at home with my sister and I.  I believe having my mom around all of the time created a warm, nurturing environment for us to grow up in and help shaped me into the person I am today. 

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM!  I love you.

Happy Mother's Day to my aunts, my cousins and my friends who are working SO hard to be the best mothers ever.  You are doing an amazing job!

So, this weekend, while you are out celebrating Mother's Day make sure your mother knows how much you love and appreciate her.  Though jewelery, expensive handbags, flowers and spa treatments are great gifts (and yes, we still want and deserve them) most of all we want to know that we are genuinely loved and appreciated.

What are you Reading?

It's raining in NYC, which is quite welcome considering how extremely hot it has been the last few weeks. Days like these make me feel like staying home and curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee.  In fact, our new house has a porch (wish list item), so I'm looking forward to spending some time out there under a blanket with a cool breeze blowing over me with a glass of wine, book in hand (not sure how I can do this with two toddlers running around).  Wow! I'm really getting into this porch scenario.  You can tell I've obviously thought about this.. A LOT. This would be a good place to curl up. Weekend in Review

Hello there! It's been waaaaay tooooo long. So sorry for my absence, but my nanny/babysitter had a death in the family and had to go home for a week.  All of our back up babysitters-aka our parents- were out of the country, traveling for business or extremely busy at the office and therefore could not provide their usual assistance.  Luckily for us, hubby's company has emergency daycare that you can use 3 weeks out of the year for situations just like this.  I really have to take my hat off to parents who schlep their kiddos every day to daycare, summer camp, grandma and grandpa's house etc. before they head into the office.  Let me just say it ain't easy getting those little guys dressed and fed and out the door early in the morning (of course I have to do this on weekends, but there isn't the pressure of being late for work).  The boys ended up having a great time and enjoyed taking the subway every day, so somehow we survived.  Oh- and most important
